Pordenone City Plan: With the Localities of Cordenons and Porcla
Territory Pordenone is a beautiful, modern, curious and fun city: it is also a beautiful historic center that you can walk through to let yourself be seduced by the elegance of the painted palaces and arcades, by the poetry of the frescoes that reveal the history of the city. Pordenone is also the city that gave birth to Giovanni Antonio de Sacchis (1484-1539), known as Pordenone, the greatest Friulian painter of the Renaissance. Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, the ancient Contrada Maggiore, an elegant street with long arcades, palaces of great artistic interest, well-kept shop windows and welcoming cafes begins from the ancient Palazzo del Comune, with its original Gothic forms. Pordenone is also nature: a stone's throw from the city, on the right bank of the Noncello there is the coastal road called Riviera del Pordenone, with a cycle path and a wide sidewalk from which you can look out to admire a magnificent green oasis. Another large green area is Parco Galvani, which incorporates the residence of the Galvani family built at the end of the eighteenth century. The villa has been restored and enlarged by a new structure that houses the PAFF! Friuli Cartoon Arts Palace, a multifunctional center on the arts of comics. The park has a regular structure and is reminiscent of the gardens of Venetian villas including a small lake on whose bank the MIRA - Museo Itineraio della Rosa Antica develops, an open-air museum that through a pedestrian path allows you to admire multiple varieties of roses and rosebushes arranged in such a way as to retrace the history of the rose and its family tree.
