The area extends for 11,321 hectares between the Gulf of Naples and the Gulf of Salerno and has 14 municipalities: Amalfi, Atrani, Cetara, Conca dei Marini, Furore, Maiori, Minori, Positano, Praiano, Ravello, Scala, Tramonti, Vietri  on the sea and Agerola The villages are connected by the Amalfi State Road 163, considered one of the most beautiful roads in the boot built in the Bourbon period.
