Amalfi Coast, Capri, Pompeii and Naples.
Made up of towns such as Ravello, Amalfi, Praiano or Positano, the splendid Amalfi Coast offers a perfect complement between crowded Naples and the luxury of the island of Capri. It is located in Campania and is a coastal strip of great beauty and refinement, one of the most sophisticated destinations in southern Italy.
The Strada Statale 163 or Amalfi road starts exactly in Piano di Sorrento and then runs to Vietri sul Mare, passing through the towns of Positano, Praiano, Amalfi, Minori and Maiori (near the Tyrrhenian Sea). Only Ravello is far from the Amalfi road, right at the top of the mountain.
Here are some tips that will greatly contribute to a smooth journey across the Amalfi Coast. I am talking in particular about how to get there, the best time to visit, tips for using local transport, information on the best village to stay in (Positano, Amalfi or Ravello?), And many other useful tips.
This is my one week itinerary to visit the Amalfi Coast, plus Capri, Naples and Pompeii. Having more time, I would include the islands of Procida or Ischia (where I didn't go, however).
