Cupra Marittima, in Italy, Marche region, 63064 Cupra Marittima, Province of Ascoli Piceno, Via Castello, Borgo Marano Cupra Alta Postal Address Description Borgo Marano The hill of Marano is the historical core located in the upper part of Cupra Marittima. Visit to Borgo Marano, Cupra Marittima high, the streets of Borgo Marano, Historic Borgo Marano, Cupra Marittima the views of the Borgo area. In the 9th century, the Western Roman Empire has also fallen, the port of Cupra no longer enjoys Roman protection and is sacked several times by the Moors who destroy it. The cuprensi retire so on the heights giving life to "Castrum Maranum". The marina is never completely abandoned, but fishermen build their houses in the upper part of the village until the nineteenth century when, thanks to the arrival of the railway and the tourist revival of the area, the first settlements "for vacation" begin. At the beginning of the 20th century, the economic boom transformed Cupra Marittima into a real holiday resort with the opening of the first hotels in the marina and with the construction of the elegant villas in Borgo Marano. Today the hill is surrounded by high defensive, crenellated walls. The ancient access door was abandoned in favor of the new door. The center is an intertwining of narrow streets that open onto intimate squares and its breathtaking views of the coast through ancient buildings and sumptuous villas, today, alas for the most part abandoned, whose remains, however, leave us to guess the ancient splendor.

Borgo Marano the village kissed by the Goddess Cupra in Cupra Marittima Place Marano is a fortified village in the Marche region, the medieval nucleus of Cupra Marittima. Municipal statutes were issued as early as 1076 and, in the late medieval age, it was involved in the struggles between Ascoli and Fermo for control of the territory. In the 16th century it was sacked by the Turks and in 1861 it was annexed to the nascent Kingdom of Italy. It currently forms part of the capital and is also known as Cupra Alta (or generally the high town of Cupra); however, that of Marano was the official name of the municipality until 1863. . Overview

Italian Beauties from itravelinitaly.it highlights the diversity and richness of Italy’s regions, cities, and natural wonders. Italy’s beauty spans from the stunning Amalfi Coast and rolling hills of Tuscany to historic cities like Rome, Venice, and Florence, and the dramatic Dolomites.

itravelinitaly.it promotes a sustainable approach:

Best Time to Visit

Spring (April - June): Mild temperatures and blooming landscapes make this an excellent time for both cities and countryside.

Autumn (September - October): Cooler temperatures, fewer crowds, and harvest season for food and wine make autumn ideal.

Winter (December - February): This is the best time for skiing in the Dolomites or visiting popular cities with fewer tourists.

How to Get There

1. By Air: Italy has several international airports, with Rome, Milan, and Venice being the main entry points.

2. By Train: Italy is connected to other European countries by high-speed trains, and once in Italy, the train network makes travel between cities easy.

3. By Car: Renting a car is ideal for exploring rural regions like Tuscany, the Amalfi Coast, and Sicily. However, Italian cities are best explored without a car.
