The plant is a Latin cross, and the style is Venetian Gothic in cotto and Istrian stone. It has three naves with ogival arches resting on six columns on each side connected by chains covered with wooden boxes. It is the only important Italian church to have preserved a large choir surrounded by a high wall at the end of the central nave in front of the main altar, according to medieval use.
