55049 Viareggio, Province of Lucca, Italy. Viareggio, the capital of the Italian Carnival, makes an appointment for the great Masked Courses 2020 on the Viali a mare. Throughout the month of February, the city is transformed into a factory of entertainment amid parades of paper-mâché giants, night parties, fireworks, weddings, theater reviews, gastronomic events, and major world sporting events.

MASKED COURSES

There are six masked courses of the Viareggio Carnival 2020 scheduled from 1 to 25 February. Absolutely new: the night parade on Thursday 20 February, to celebrate Fat Thursday. The Viareggio 2020 Carnival will begin on Saturday 1 February with the inauguration ceremony, the flag-raising, and the first Masquerade Course. The allegorical floats will return to parade on the Viali a Mare on Sunday 9, Saturday 15, Thursday 20, Sunday 23 and Tuesday 25 February for the grand finale with the announcement of the winners and the closing fireworks display.
