Rocca Tiepolo, fortress in Porto San Giorgio, Via Leonardo Da Vinci 3, 63822, Porto San Giorgio, FM, Marches, Fermano, Italy. Fortress built-in 1267 at the behest of Lorenzo Tiepolo, podestà of the nearby city of Fermo and future Doge of the Serenissima, stands on a small promontory set up to defend the ancient port of the city. It has walls - remodeled over the centuries - with a pentagonal plan, with towers and Guelph battlements and a high central keep. The fortified defensive complex included, in addition to the fortress, also: upstream, a boundary wall defending the whole port culminating in a high tower; of arches, in masonry, placed to guard the waters of the ancient landing place.
