The stone pine memories of Porto San GiorgioVia Girolamo Bonaparte, 63822 Porto San Giorgio FM, Italy. Armed with a rudimentary sling, we left as a group of 4 or 5 kids, they started hunting for the largest pine cones set in these gigantic pines. Most of the time the pinecone fell on our heads, but it was worth it because we enjoyed the pine nuts there. From the hills between Fermo and Porto San Giorgio that slope down to the sea, it stands in the landscape The stone pine. The stone pine, botanical name Pinus pinea, also known as the Italian stone pine, umbrella pine, and parasol pine, is a tree from the pine family. The tree is native to the Mediterranean region.
