The region of the one hundred. The Marche a region with a very high density of historic theaters, it is thought that between the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries almost all the municipalities, even the smallest, had equipped themselves with a theater. Many of these historical theaters, around one hundred, have come down to the present and constitute a precious cultural heritage for the region.

Altidona, situated on a pleasant hill overlooking the entrance door to the Valle dell'Aso. The territory of Altidona has been inhabited since the Paleolithic. In Roman times there was numerous villae with sea views such as Barbula, a well-known producer of palmense wine. In the early Middle Ages, the Farfensi and Benedictine monks of Monte Cassino founded churches and castles. In the 12th century, the scattered settlements are abandoned and the inhabitants give life to a new castle around the parish church of Santa Maria and San Ciriaco, transferred to the hill of the current town. From the beginning, it has been subjected to Fermo.».
