The association's astronomical observatory is located on Monte Serrone, a sandstone hill of modest elevation (100 m. S.l.m.) a few kilometers from Pedaso, in a protected floristic area, typical of the Mediterranean maquis. It can be reached by following the panoramic municipal road that climbs from Pedaso towards Campofilone, once you exit the tollbooth for A 14 in Pedaso. The dome, two meters in diameter, was made of aluminum and is ideal for hosting medium-power instruments. The building is supplied with electricity by means of a solar panel, in order to use clean and low-cost energy; moreover, at night, it is possible to suffuse the lights, in order to provide light to the visitors, not disturbing the observations. The observatory has three sundials and a large series of astronomical photos, in which the main planets of the solar system and various objects of the deep sky are portrayed. The position of the observatory is ideal: light pollution, given the distance from population centers, is reduced, although on summer nights it slightly increases. The quality of the sky is very good in winter, as the eastern winds bring dry and cold air (the 5th-6th visual magnitude is reached at the zenith); in summer it is slightly worse, given the high humidity: it is however possible to reach the 4th -5th visual magnitude at the zenith.
